We realize that there is no single formula that guarantees a reasonable fee in every case for every client. Instead, we endorse a creative, flexible approach that allows us to propose a fee that is fair to both our client and to the firm, depending on the client, the adversary, the nature of the dispute, and the resources that will be required to ensure success. We work with our clients on a variety of billing options, including standard hourly billing arrangements, flat-fee litigation, hybrid hourly/success-based rates, and in certain cases, contingency billing arrangements.
BUDGET CERTAINTY AND AN INNOVATIVE BUILT-IN-COST APPROACH
We help provide certainty to our clients. We prepare realistic budgets that we will update on demand. We know that clients hate surprises, and this means that we keep a close watch on expenses as they are projected and incurred. We take a team-oriented approach with our clients in monitoring budgets and the litigation process, helping ensure that the monthly bill is never an unpleasant surprise. Clients hire us for our legal skills, not our office operations. That is why we do not charge for routine costs that we believe should be part of our own overhead. We do not bill for office copies, faxes, legal research fees, long-distance calls, scanning, printing, or other similar charges. You will see the value of our work reflected in our bills--not the markup that can be applied to office operations.
